Loki presented with right hind limb lameness and was diagnosed with a chronic femoral capital physeal fracture. Looking for the best possible outcome, his owner decided to pursue a total hip replacement (THR) versus a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to address his injury. Loki got back to climbing, jumping and exploring after a successful THR.

When a wildlife center took in a juvenile gray fox with a foreleg injury, X-Ray images showed significant displacement of an oblique fracture. In surgery, the fox’s tiny forelimb was plated using the world’s smallest, clinically tested locking plate system for veterinary use. Dr. Schott adapted her implants to the patient’s small anatomy, which led to full healing of the injured bone.
